Different types of CAS activities

About 2 weeks before the first day of school, I decided to try different types of volunteer work. One day, someone told me that one of the most famous singers comes to Moscow and there is going to be a big concert. He asked me if I can help them. I was concidering for a different types of CAS activities so I said that I really want to do.
 On saturday which is a day before the concert, I had a meeting with people who organized this concert. On that day, we decided the position for next day and what we need to do. my position was right in front of the stage so that I need to control people who are sitting front. I was so excited that I will do some different style of CAS activities.
  On sunday, I went to the place where the concert be early in the morning. I set the chairs for people who will come, I set the tables for poster, and I put posters around the place. I was running for more that 3 km on this day to put posters. After lunch, the atmosphere in the place was getting more serious because the concert is comming but we werent ready. I was helping camera men and they taught me how to use it. It was new to me that I was using a professional camera. I was also controlling lights.
When people started to come in, I was so nervous because I didnt know what I need to do. However it was prttey fine. When people asked me where they can sit, I answered with fluent russian immediately. As my position was right in front of the stage, I counldnt drink, go to toilet and sit.
   When the actual concert started, I was doing my work which I have to do. I controlled people at the front, explain where the toilet is, telling people to sit down and etc.

Sports club after school

In this term I have attended after school sports club which is basketball club on wednsday. In this term, we played teachers teachers versus students because of lack of the players. As IGCSE has started, all of yr 11 students were away from the school. Therefore only about 10~12 players in the  basketball club on wednsday. However lack of players does not mean that the matches are boring but it means that we have to play withoutout any rest. All the games are good as always. I have advertised the club to our friends to come and play basketball. I feel good that my basketball skills are improving as I  attend the after basketball club. til the end of term, I will attend the baskeball club and will improve my basketball skills.

Playing the saxophone

On the first day of june, me and my sister played the song 'let it be' which was sung by The Beatles. Since last september, me and my sister played some musical instruments such as clarinet, piano, saxophone ,drum and etc. We decided to play the song 'let it be' for people who are leaving soon. Therefore we played the song for them. As this song is one of my favorite song to play with saxophone, I chose this song. My sister helped me with piano to make the best melody. I was considering about CAS all the time. If I get the chance to play for school mates, I would play the song without any argument. Last term,  I have taught my sister how to play the clarinet. I wish I would play the song with my sister playing clarinet from next term.
  Since beginning of the yr.12, I said that I will play the saxophone in front of my school friends. On the last week of the school if I will be there, I will play the saxophone somehow.

swimming

Since 15/08/11, I have been working out in the gym that is in my apartment. I go and work out every day without trainers. I have never been to gym swimming pool before I said that I will go to swimming pool for my CAS action. At the beginning of this term, I wrote that I will go to swimming pool and will swim on my third CAS plan. Me and my Russian friend decided to go to swimming pool after when I came back from Istra science field trip. The swimming pool was magnificent and me and my friends will go in another day.

service and chance

During the mid-term break, I provided chance to do something belongs to the CAS service for my friends. Since the last september, I have been helping old people by providing free food from different sponser. This time I served food as always but I also have provided a good chance for IB students to do something for their CAS service. CAS service part is one of the hardest thing to do I think. Therefore I decided to help them by providing chance. Me, Minjin, Sanghoon and yein were supposed to go together, but yein couldn't make it because of her own business. In the place where we went and served food, we met Anglo American School students with teacher. I was jealous that they come and help local people on school day with teacher.
  serving food for 100 people was not difficult and didn't take long because there were more than 10 people who were serving. Usually 1 or 2 people come and help people and it takes 2 hours. However this time it took about half an hour.
   Next time I want to provide another chance for different IB students to complete their CAS service.

Here is my CAs plan.

1.Creactivity
I will play the saxophone with a person who plays a different instrument such as guitar.
I will bake a cake.

I will attend a different sports club after school.
I will go to swimming pool which is in my apartment gym.

I will serve food for elderly
I will clean the park which is in front of our school

Teaching

  As what I have written on my CAS plan, I have taught my sister how to play the clarinet which is one of the instrument I can play well. I have been playing the clarinet for 6 years and I was junior Orchestra for few years. I decide to teach how to play the clarinet because my sister wanted to learn some instruments.
On the first day I taught her, I realised that teaching is really hard. However at the same time, It is so exciting when a student is getting better every time she try. Since beginning of this term, my sister has improved her skill.
   It was quite easy to make her to remember the skills she learnt. She used to play the clarinet but she hasn't been playing for a long time. I helped my sister to remember and to learn some techniques.
If my sister has a chance to perform in front of her friends, I would be so proud that my student actually can play the clarinet in front of her friends very well.
